The Pedroches Valley region is the tenth area in the world to be declared a Starlight Reserve, a distinction that attests to the quality of the night sky for stargazing. The scarce light contamination makes it possible to enjoy the stars like few other places. Add to that its exceptional nature, and we have the perfect plan for enjoying this region 24 hours a day. In Alcaracejos, there is an official observation point in the Merendero (picnic site), in the spot known as el Pozo de la Benita, but the whole Mozarabic Alcaracejos trail route is ideal for star-gazing, especially points like el Puerto Calatraveño or the Los Jarales area.
